We all have families, child(ren), a demanding job or career, personal businesses to run, things to do, etc. The list can go on and on. Some of us Christians are just too “busy” to do the things we should be doing to give reverence to the Lord. Ask yourself the following questions:

• Do I pray daily? (aside from gracing your food)
• Do I worship him daily? (aside from saying OMG in text messages and instant messages)
• Do I read the word daily?
• Do I follow the commandments?

I won’t even front with any of you. I’ve said No to all four questions above. I am a hard working woman who has received many MANY blessings, but I haven’t said Thank You to the Lord in the proper way.

I found the following verse online today and it struck my heart.

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
Proverbs 16:3

I consider myself successful but I haven’t shown my commitment to the Lord. Can you imagine what gifts can be waiting for me if I just express my Thanks for what I have so far? I feel like I’m only at the beginning of what God wants me to be in terms of my direction in Life. If I start showing my commitment, I’ll most likely achieve things that incompressible…In fact, we ALL can excel leaps and bounds. Lets all commit to the Lord today so we can see the treasures in store for us in the tomorrows ahead.

How do you serve God without serving people?!
I heard this question on TBN. You know how you hear something but it hasn’t caught you yet. I had to say it again in my head. First I thought he said “How do you serve people without serving God?” That made sense to me right off the back, doesn’t it? I was ready to answer too. Then I thought about it…wait he didn’t say that! He said “How do you serve God without serving people?”
Well after saying it so many times I finally understood! “How do you serve God without serving people?” When you love God so much, when you want to walk in Jesus’s shoes and when you have so much compassion about everything you do is for God you should be able to do anything for anyone. We just forget sometimes. Doing things for people sometimes is hard and can’t put you down because in the back of your head you’re saying “this person isn’t going to repay me or do me a favor when I need it.” It’s not about that Christians. Jesus knew what was going to happen before it happen but He still did it anyways. He did it out of love and compassion for that person, for the people He love and didn’t know. He didn’t stop and think about it, the person asked and Jesus give without skipping a heartbeat. As Christians we say we want to follow in Jesus footsteps, we want to be like Jesus but we’re worried if that person will ever repay us. Remember this old saying “It’s better to GIVE then RECEIVE”! Keep on giving until you can’t give no more. Do by example, Jesus’s example! “And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you” John 13:14-15.
If you still don’t understand let me break it down a little further for you. Serving people doesn’t mean they’re your idol. It means you have to have an open heart, compassion about God’s people. One day God will ask you “what did you do for my people on earth?” “What about them” you’ll say. No, no, no wrong answer! We want to get to heaven right? Following God’s rules is one way but not enough. “In the same way, let your good deeds shine for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father” Matthew 5:16. You see how police are here to “serve and protect”, be Christians “serve people and love God”. Serve people and love God, serve people and love God. Don’t get me wrong now when I say “serve people and love God” it’s more than that. Serve God’s people show God you love him by helping His people. Love God by loving His people, obeying His laws, giving your heart to some in need of it. Oh, God knows you still love Him because you loved Him first. Giving your heart to someone shows you’re not selfish. Matthew 16:24 “If any of you wants to be my followers, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me”

I had the privilege of seeing some very talented Gospel artists on December 10th. The occasion was a Coat Drive/Concert sponsored by the X-treme Praise Show. The X-treme Praise Show is a edgy religious gospel show that airs online every friday on The Jay Everyday Radio Station from 6-9pm. The artist in the video below is Camille Newman. Her song provides a message that we all should send to the Lord everyday “We Need You Lord”. Enjoy

Every year since my family was bless with a house of our own my in-laws always come up for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year for Thanksgiving no one was coming because of school, it wasn’t a long enough holiday and air fare was to much for a short time. Now not because anyone wasn’t coming we were not going to have a Thanksgiving dinner. I was very excited to be cooking the full dinner this time and it would have been our first Thanksgiving as a family, just the 5 ½ of us. About a week before Thanksgiving I check our balance to see how much I could spend for food. Come to find out I didn’t have anything to spend. No Thanksgiving for us this year!

When God heard that he said no, no, no Mrs., there will be a Thanksgiving dinner in the house I bless you with. Sunday, November 21st, 2010 I got a phone call from a friend saying her and our pastor are coming up for Thanksgiving. Now I’m thinking to myself I don’t have food to feed these people. I told them and she said no problem I’ll buy something. Now Monday, November 22nd, 2010 I got a call from my daughter’s school saying I won a Turkey Dinner Basket. I was like “what you said“. She laugh and said “you won a Turkey…Dinner…Basket!” She and the nurse dropped it off the next day. A huge turkey, egg, milk you name it, it was in there. Wow! Now my friend and our pastor didn’t come up on Thanksgiving day but they make it the next day. Thanksgiving day we were invited to a friend’s house.

Friday, December 26th, 2010 they surprise us with another pastor from our church. I took them driving around, did a little Black Friday shopping and pick up a couple of things to cook. My friend and I started cooking around 1pm we finish cooking around 5 5:30 pm and we ate, (well they ate I can’t cook and eat, ha-ha!). We had a juicy turkey, bar-b-q chicken, tofu, rice, veggie, mac and cheese, rolls, pastor’s foods, pumpkin pie, red velvet, ice cream and more – I can’t remember.

This here is a blessing from God. Everything I do is for him. He saw we didn’t have food and provided us with food, He saw we wouldn’t have family to spend time with and He provided family. It shows you don’t give up faith on “thanksgiving” in my case because God will provide. You give him the praise, honor and glory and He will provide. Provide from God is blessings being stowed upon you. So the next time you lose faith in anything you do remember He will provide, He will bless you with His love and His love is the only thing you need!!!
